Welcome to DVBStreamExplorer!
Welcome to the official homepage of DVBStreamExplorer, MPEG2/DVB Transport Stream Analyzer application.
What is DVBStreamExplorer?
DVBStreamExplorer is an MPEG2/DVB Transport Stream Analyzer application. It reads a DVB transport stream, scans it and display
stream information, such as headers, sections and descriptors, in an Explorer-like tree view. The transport stream can be obtained
either from file or directly from a DVB device plugged into your computer (e.g. PCI or USB).
Aimed for the professional, hobbyist or student alike, DVBStreamExplorer
can be used to analyze and troubleshoot a DVB Transport Stream, or simply to
learn how the technology works. If you would like to learn more about DVB
technology, we suggest you have a look at our primer.

What features does it provide?
MPEG2/DVB/ATSC PSI/SI/PSIP scanning, DVB DSMCC scanning, DVB MPE scanning, real-time monitoring of Transport Stream, stream demuxing and capturing to disk, teletext analyzer and service player, to name a few. Check out the complete list of features.
What features make it unique?
Unattended PSI/SI scanning of multiple transponders/MUXes, decoding of most MPEG2/DVB PSI/SI tables and descriptors and saving of DSMCC object carousels. Check out the complete list of features.
What are the requirements?
- Microsoft Windows 2000, 2003, XP or Vista.
Unless you will be working just with Transport Stream files (offline mode), you will also need:
- DirectX 9 or later;
- A DVB device: PCI/USB, satellite, cable or terrestrial tuner.
Your device driver must support the BDA interface (Microsoft TV Technology),
which provides the communication mechanism between DVBStreamExplorer and
the device. Most modern digital TV devices support this, but check with your
product's specification. The only exception to this is TechniSat SkyStar 2,
which is supported via a non-BDA
interface. Premium cards such as TechnoTrend TT-Connect and TT-Premium are not
supported because the hardware does not present DVBStreamExplorer with the
original transport stream. On the other hand, budget cards such as TechnoTrend
TT-Budget will work since the transport stream is left unmodified.
