Main window

When DVBStreamExplorer is launched the main window will be shown as below.

The main window is organized in three main areas.

  • SI tree view, here the a tree structure of the scanned SI data is shown.

  • SI value view, here values of SI section and descriptors are shown.

  • Notification window, here various messages are shown during operation.

SI tree view

The data shown in this view is raw data more or less reflecting how the various structures are defined in the ISO13818/DVB standard documents. You will need to consult these documents to fully understand the data presented here.

Service view

DVBStreamExplorer offers an alternative to SI tree view In service view the data is presented in a service oriented way similar to how services are presented in TV applications.

Selecting a service

Double-click on a service to select it. A selected service is used by some MUX analysis. A selected service is similar to the service selected for viewing in TV applications. If your DVB card supports CI and you have a CAM and a valid subscription card, this will also activate decryption of the selected service.
