TS File Driver

With the TS File Driver it is possible to analyze a Transport Stream saved on disk instead of live data captured with a DVB device.

Tuning

To activate tuning dialog box, select Device -> Tuning menu.

  1. Specify the TS file you want to analyze.
  2. Specify the network type for the captured TS file if known. The type of the network will usually not be identifiable from the file, but the data will vary according to the original type of carrier.

You are now ready to perform various analyzing operations on the TS file.

Note

Some operations in DVBStreamExplorer require a real physical device that can tune. These operations will be disabled when using TS File Driver.

Some operations work best if the TS stream is played back in the same rate as it was recorded. For that you can enable fixed bit-rate playback and specify the playback rate in bytes/sec. If the modulation parameters for the recorded TS are known, then you can use bit-rate calculator (for DVB-S, DVB-C and DVB-T) to calculate playback rate.
