1: What is it?
DVBStreamExplorer is an MPEG2/DVB Transport Stream Analyzer application. Coupled with one of the supported interface cards, it provides detail information about the DVB signal. You might want to check out the various screenshots.
2: What features does it provide?
MPEG2/DVB/ATSC PSI/SI/PSIP scanning, DVB DSMCC scanning, DVB MPE scanning, stream demuxing and capturing to disk, teletext analyzer and service player, to name a few. Check out the complete list of features.
3: What features make it unique?
Unattended PSI/SI scanning of multiple transponders/MUXes, decoding of most MPEG2/DVB PSI/SI tables and descriptors and saving of DSMCC object carousels. Check out the complete list of features.
4: What are the requirements?
You will need Windows XP with DirectX 9 or above, and one of the various DVB-S, DVB-T, or DVB-C cards/USB boxes that are supported. For more information, check out the list of features.
5: What are the differences between the Home Edition and the Professional Edition?

6: Can DVBStreamExplorer analyze a transport stream in real-time?
DVBStreamExplorer provides a real-time Transport Stream Monitor which provides real-time parsing of PAT, PMT, CAT, NIT, SDT, BAT, TOT, TDT and EIT PSI/SI tables, logging of PCR, PTS and DTS time stamps, logging of MPEG2 A/V, H.264 and AC3 elementary stream key parameters and of unknown PID usage, besides providing a summary of services on other MUXes. This is just for the Home Edition. The Professional Edition provides additional parsing such as MHP Application Information Tables (AIT), IP/MAC Notification Tables (INT), and much more!
7: What hardware does DVBStreamExplorer support?

DVBStreamExplorer can support any device that is BDA-compatible (implements the Broadcast Device Architecture interface for DirectX compatibility). However, since BDA does not implement properly some features, such as DiSEqC and CI, DVBStreamExplorer provides vendor-specific support for the following devices and features:

  • DVBWorld USB 2102 (DiSEqC 1.2)
  • TechnoTrend (DiSEqC 1.2 and CI)
  • TechnoTrend (DiSEqC 1.0 via InputRange)

TechnoTrend includes the Premium, Budget and Connect family of cards. DVBStreamExplorer also provides support for the following non-BDA devices:

  • TechniSat SkyStar2
  • Twinhan VisionPlus DTV
8: What are the limitations of the trial version?
There are some limitations in DBStreamExplorer Home Edition Trial and DVBStreamExplorer Professional Edition Trial, as follows:
  • The trial version expires after 30 days.
  • When using Unattened Scanning multiple transponders/MUXes, you can only save information from the first transponder/MUX.
  • When loading a saved file, it will only load info from one one transponder/MUX, even if file contains information more transponders/MUXes.
  • In DSMCC plugin, it is not possible to save the hierarchy of files and folders captured from stream to disk.
  • Real-time Transport Stream Monitor does not provide saving of PSI/SI, current MUX, other MUX and EIT summary to text field, and PID bit rates can't be exported to CSV.
9: How do I activate the full version?

The full version of both DVBStreamExplorer Home Edition and DVBStreamExplorer Professional Edition is a separate download. You cannot activate the trial version by using a code. Once you purchase the product, you will receive an e-mail with intructions of how you can log into the Customers Area and download the full version from there.

DVBStreamExplorer Home Edition and DVBStreamExplorer Professional Edition are separate downloads as well. You will be given access to the installation file depending on your purchase.
